Salt is a very historically and spiritually rich material. For centuries, many have believed it has purifying, protecting and healing properties. Its power lies in its ability to bring large groups of people to collectively trust in somewhat magical and inexplicable occurrences. From being used to repel witches or evil spirits, to spilling salt on the dinner table foreshadowing a familial conflict — salt was and is still using it’s mystically influential powers to this day.
